WOW!!! The last 3 days of tennis camp was the most influential ever in my 1 year of learning tennis, both on-court and off-court!!! Here's what happened the past 3 awesome days.

Day 1 (Monday, 22 December '08)
This was the best day of the 3, apparently. I stayed for almost 9 HOURS OF TENNIS!!! yea, you didn't see that wrong...
9 HOURS
OF
NON-STOP TENNIS!!!
That's the life man! Yes it is tired, but it's fun! Really really fun. 9am till 7pm, with an hour of lunch in there only. 9 hours, baby! This is when I learn to correct my forehand strokes, all by myself! Well of course, I wouldn't have done it without my experimental helpers, Brian, Ben and Wesley. And also before the staying back (camp was supposedly till 1pm only, but we stayed on. :D), there was the majority UWC students in the camp. -.- I juz find it very sianx that there is so many people from one same school. Since UWC takes in students from all around the world, it makes the camp look like some UN meeting leh! xD

Hahax anyway back to tennis, I just whacked every single ball! Some went in, some didn't! But as time, and I mean really a lot of time, wore on, the percentage of strokes going in is increasing! Woohoo! Winners, one by one, and going pass Ben and Brian!!! Oh for those who duno, Brian and Ben are brothers, the coach's sons. So quite obviously, they're reli good! And hence, OF COURSE I'M HAPPY!!! :D

But there is always a consequence to everything...now my backhand is going so off. Not enough spin on the ball! >.<

Oh and 1 more thing, LUNCH RAWKS!!! Lunch was at the Singapore Poly Graduates' Guild's restaurant on the 2nd level, and I ate Chicken Cutlet. I gotta say this, this restaurant really serves great food! All 3 days!!! :P But what's best and, I guess, quite surprising is that the waiters and waitresses actually treat us kids and teens with the same amount of treatment to all other adult guests! They serve us food the same way, they ask us very politely whether we wanted more drinks, just jaw-dropping, but it gives us sort of a superior look, doesn't it? :D Even the 'troublemaker' Andrew (umm Mark's brother :S) was settled with, though quarrels coming from him is absolutely inevitable, and annoying. >.<

Day 2 (Tuesday, 23 December '08)
Hmm let's see. Tuesday. Oh oh, this morning's camp immediately started with a really short warm-up, followed by a knockout tournament. :S We used a 'lucky draw' system to determine who plays who. 1st up for me is...uhh...Ryan, a really good player which I guess is just slightly 'lousier' than Brian and Ben. 1st thought was that "it's the end of the knockout round for me". But it went the total opposite!!! I won...7-1 tiebreak knockout! I myself can't believe it. All I did was just tell myself, don't make unforced errors, and just last as long as you can. A few points will do. In the end, my 'unforced errors' forced Ryan to make his errors! Hahax so from then on, I understood everything! Just reduce your own errors, and bank on opponent's own errors. As long as you keep the ball in, there is every chance that you might win the point. ;) Brian said I made him run around a lot, but I myself wasn't sure actually. I just focused on keeping the ball in the court!

Of course, I was happy, but it was quite short-lived, coz after quarter-finals was done (since there was only 8 players :P), next was...uhh...Brian!!! :S Ok this is the part where I kinda got a huge slice of luck. I duno whether to thank him or not, so I'm not going to...coz it's the troublemaker Andrew that 'helped' me...indirectly. He was the one who made so much noise and kept on irritating Brian till Brian got fed up and after I won 7-5 :P, he went straight to Andrew and hit the ball at him, and then got ticked off by coach. :S Of course Andrew irritated me too, but I guess I was less affected. :D So yea! Woohoo! Semi's is done! I won! But in the other semis, Benjamin (Ben) beat Mark. So yea, now for me to beat the brother. >.<

I guess that's just what tournaments are about. When one is done, next comes another harder opponent. Hence, it's up to you to rise up to the challenge and not challenge your opponent, but challenge your mental edge. Andrew was a huge irritation, who even I told him to shut his gap up, but it's all about focusing on the match 1st, and dealing with him afterwards. That's the key.
FOCUS & CONTROL

Oh but we didn't stay for long today, only till 4pm. Ok only I could stay till 4pm, coz I had to go watch a movie with my brother. We watched Bolt, which I say is an excellent movie! The effects in the show, and the plot is cool! Predictable at the end, but not so at the start (unless you read the critics)! So, who was the one who told me it has no plot? -.-

And after the movie, I actually saw Samantha and her twin sister, and 2 other friends. Hahax did she become much skinnier or something? Almost couldn't recognise her either. :S Oh and Carol said she saw me, but she didn't wave or anything lor. -.- Hahax didn't noe 1 movie can lead to so many coincidences! xD

Day 3 (Wednesday, 24 December '08)
Well this day kinda wraps up everything. :D Heaven wasn't nice to us, and poured the courts DRENCHED!!! >.<>
But I guess the most astonishing thing to come out of this day, was that Wesley is born on the SAME DAY, SAME YEAR as me! Hahax at the start of the camp, I realised Wesley was also 15, and at the end of the camp, I realised we're born ON THE SAME DATE AND YEAR!!! Yes, it's true there's nothing really mind-boggling about that, since there are tons of people born on the same date, same year as me. But to know them is what makes it so astonishing... ;)

Can't keep on loving you
