This week's Alv's track of the week is coming from one of the greatest songwriters of the 21st century. Lemme recall you with some of his songwriting hits. Hahax how about Take A Bow by Rihanna? How about Unfaithful? Let Me Love You by Mario? And another of my favourite song, Gallery by Mario Vazquez? Argh who am I kidding? The picture below has such huge fonts...how can u miss the words?! Hahax so yea, it's Mad by Ne-yo. :D :D :D

The video:

I shall just keep this short and sweet. :D The video, shot in black and white only, 1st shows Ne-yo (acting as himself) arguing with his girlfriend. After furiously leaving the house, Ne-yo comes across a kid who ran onto the road. Ne-yo is supposedly seen running to the road, most probably to save the kid. However, the next scene showed Ne-yo standing there looking at the aftermath of the incident. The scene then moves between Ne-yo with his girlfriend again, and also Ne-yo singing in an empty place by himself. There is a scene which shows 'skeleton couples', which was later shown at the end as a link that Ne-yo did actually save the kid, and unfortunately passed on in an attempt to save him. The Ne-yo that appeared beside the girlfriend while he was singing, was just Ne-yo's 'ghost'.

The GOOD, and the bad:

Well this song has been my blogsong for wad 2 or 3 weeks? Hahax regret 2 have changed it, but u never know, I may just bring it back. ;) Why? Coz it's juz such a great song. Woohoo!!!

Let's start from the video. Many people would question why make black and white? Well again, thanks to my IHE (Lit) lessons, I think I kinda understand it better. :D :D :D The black and white effect is actually to signify the gloomy atmosphere of the song about being mad at one another, and apparently death of Ne-Yo's character in the video. Hence, very fitting! :D Plus point! :D

Moving on. Who actually know from the start of the video that Ne-Yo's character was suppose 2 his 'ghost'? Hahax not even me! I had 2 read wikipedia and infer from the lousy text there before I understood! XD But in the end, I like that idea of the video. The song, Mad, is about making up after an argument. Using a 'ghost' so as to see how Ne-Yo's girlfriend is reflecting on how much their love means 2 each other and how much she regretted what she is doing is just...woohoo! XD

Now to the man. Ne-Yo, Ne-Yo, Ne-Yo. Just how do you do it? He creates his own sound, his own image, and I can't see how he ever fails? Well it is possible, if he goes since punk rock! XD In his album, Year Of The Gentleman, almost every song is a great song! If you look carefully at the lyric, Most, if not all, of the songs are really about gentleman supposedly respecting the opposite gender. Hahax pro pro pro. Image!

Cool gentleman? O.O I think that's the image he's trying 2 show. XD does it work though? :S

Most importantly, the lyrics is just one of a kind! Gosh how many people would think about writing arguments into a song? The piano play is so sweet and definitely, this song will forever be in my playlist, b'coz I luv music with have great guitar/piano solos, mebbe drums too. ;) Not only did Ne-Yo do that, he did it darn well. ;)
