I finally realise my true problem when playing tennis already!!!
Actually it's not always this problem, but it's reli obvious when it comes to playing in a friendly or a competition.:S
The problem? CONFIDENCE
I can play really well when I'm playing with my friends, but when it comes to a more pressurised environment, just a little more pressurised, I crumble under it. :S I get pissed with every shot that I missed! >.<
Alvin, everyone makes mistakes. That's why there is such a thing in tennis called 'Unforced Errors'. You can think of the previous shot and where you can improve on it, but you have to quickly move on TO THE NEXT POINT, coz nothing waits for you. The more you ponder, the more frustrating it will get.
And also, I don't understand why I can get so grumpy on the court, when I'm such a cheerful, joyful, bundle of smiles and laughter dude off it! Am I just trying to be serious? And worried that bringing the happy attitude onto the court would take my eye off the game? :S
Alvin, you are right to be serious, b'coz it is a match. But there are many degrees of seriousness. This is a suggestion (from myself xD). Play a few points 1st. If you make the same mistake more than 5 times, then you get SERIOUS. 10 times then get pissed. xD Don't worry ppl, I make a lot of unforced errors 1, so I definitely will have enough time to be pissed. HAHAX!
Hopefully this comes with experience.
And stop adjusting your strings so much, you'll loosen the tension!!! >.<
Also, swing Alvin, swing! Not whack, swing...you have nothing to lose, k? :D
Lock wrist, loosen arm, keep your feet on their toes (bounce!), right hand for backhand, right hand 2 point for forehand. FOCUS&CONTROL...
you'll be seeing that quite often these days, i guess. Mental preparation ;)
Lucky I realised it just before my 1st ever major tennis competition...
Ooh, tell me do you still believe
Ooh, everything that you read
Will we learn to get together, and see who we really are
Ain’t, nothing gonna change
Ain’t, nothing gonna change
If nobody’s gonna wake up, and start acting whose in charge
